Its going back...
This is far from the quality I expect of Lands End. The furry lining that seemed like a great and warm idea, catches on the cotton clothes I typically wear and getting my arms in the sleeves is a struggle. The zipper is made out of an odd plastic material that allows no room for the zipper to slide over the teeth - so another struggle getting the coat zipped and unzipped. Rather than be so irritated with the coat, I'm sending it back.

Lightest jacket I own next to the Polarthin Insulator...
You could almost mistake this jacket for a windbreaker, but it is incredibly warm in a lightweight package. The top half is lined with that luxurious Heavenly Fleece found in some of LE's other layering pieces, which was a pleasant surprise. All the way up to the high-zip collar -- the elements are shut out! Perfect late Fall, early Winter and Spring gear for the Northeast.

I miss the previous style
I loved my previous snow squall jacket. The only reason I got the new one was that the zipper on my previous one got stuck one too many times. I couldn't budge it.
I love that the hood removes. I love the fit. I wish other LE jacket styles would fit the same (The arms were way too short on other styles.)
This snow squall jacket has pockets that are too shallow. The angle of the pocket invites things to fall out, and the pocket zipper is at an odd angle to zip. Fewer pockets inside than my previous jacket, and they're smaller pockets. They also hit me smack on the chest. Pockets a bit higher would be more comfortable, and look better when something's in them.
The fleece makes this jacket heavier than the previous style. The added weight is my biggest complaint. It doesn't make the jacket any warmer, just heavier. I travel LIGHT.
I was going to return this jacket, but now in March can't find one, and the one I like has the zipper stuck in 'half-way up' mode. I'd recommend it if someone needed warmth but didn't care about the things that make it a jacket they'd love. At least it's true to size.

Love it!
This jacket is exactly what I have been searching for to wear during Seattle's gray rainy days. It is long enough to keep the tush covered and warm and a hood in case it starts to rain all of a sudden. I have it in black and now I am going to order it in another color it is so comfy. Excellent quality also. Thank you Lands End!
