In winter you’re already layered up, so the last thing you want is to pile on even more weight. However, being warm is a must. Is it possible to find a women’s down parka that is lightweight and warm? You’re looking at it. It’s packed with 600 fill power for superior cold-weather protection. And with a higher fill power, comes great insulation, so we can use less of it. Which means our parka adds warmth, not weight. And while its simple styling makes it highly versatile, chevron quilting and a slight texture in the fabric add a modern touch. Princess seams and horizontal quilting on the sides create a more feminine shape. Handy zip pockets outside, small chest pocket inside. Machine wash. Imported.

Too big in the hips My daughter has this coat (size S), and I loved it. So I ordered a M, since I am a little wider than she, but the hip area is huge. The photo does not realistically portray the curve at the hips. My daughter is pretty slim, and the coat gives her a lovely shape, but, on me the M made me look really wide, and I don't need anything to make me look wider. I really want this coat because it is warm and refined, unlike the Cire down that I have which is pretty sporty. I will return this and order a small, if they still have them. April 7, 2013
so comfy and warm, practical features and keeps my derrier warm I bought the deep red and the blue, bcs I was afraid the red might be too bright, but I wasn't disappointed. The deep red (more like a red wine) is so lovely and the lining is also a deep red (not sure why another writer mentioned orange, as this isn't so). The lining is so soft around the high collar (no scarf needed!), the cuffs and even pocket lining. The length is perfect, and two way zipper makes it comfy for sitting and walking briskly. Yes, it bunches up around the middle, but with your hands in the pockets that all straightens out. Love the extra pockets too. Thoughtful design. Love that hood is removable, deep (so I can wear a hat if I want to) and it sinches around the face to keep the wind out. The size was true - size S (I am slim up top, small chest, waist, small tummy, but ample bottom, so for a pear shape like me, it works well. I will probably return the blue, as the red worked out well. I have not seen any dawn shedding, as some other coats have been reported to have, and I've yet to clean it. The coat is a medium weight (not as light as my REI brand compact winter jacket, but not as heavy as my vintage wool pea coat). Our dog will love me for the longer walks on the colder days! At nearly 50% off it was an end-of-season steal not to be missed. March 20, 2013
Good looking coat, annoying reversible zipper This coat fits more snugly than my previous LandsEnd winter coat due to the styling, but it's a warm coat, so I can use lighter sweaters under it. I love the dark wine color. The material is lightweight, but blocks wind and cold well and is very comfortable to wear. The high collar is uncomfortable if zipped all the way up, but it isn't necessary to do that. The collar is lined with fleece and very comfortable around the neck. This coat is longer than my previous LE coat and that does make it more difficult to zip. In fact, the zipper was already jammed when I unpacked the coat! Lands End even goes to the trouble of including a warning label on the zipper to be careful when zipping. I wrecked my previous reversible zipper due to the difficulty of lining up the teeth. So far this zipper is working OK and I realize I have to be more careful with it. Unfortunately the extra length of the coat makes lining up the zipper even more difficult than the one on my previous coat. I like coats with reversible zippers and it bugs me that they are so difficult to use and so easy to break. That would be my one complaint about this coat. Otherwise great coat! March 14, 2013
The perfect parka!! This parka fits me well and is of excellent quality. I ordered the "dark wine" color and absolutely love it; very unique. I have a long walk to and from the subway during cold and windy conditions especially over the past couple of days and have felt very warm. My only regret is that I was not able to purchase a black one as well; no more mediums. March 7, 2013
Will be good in a cold London Winter This is the first time I've bought form Landsend.com, having bought previously from the UK site. The coat is heavier than I expected, but I think it will be excellent in the cold weather. I like a good jumper on underneath and went up a size, but it seems a close fit. Dispatch to the UK was good, but had to pay custums duty, but none the less it was still a good price. I would recommend. March 6, 2013
Warm, great length and terrific value for the money! I live in New Brunswick, Canada where it gets bone chilling cold with north east winds off the Atlantic Ocean. This coat has kept me so warm this winter and I never feel the wind coming through it. I love the length because it covers my behind when I sit on the cold seats in my car :) I worried about how it would wear around the cuffs and at the zipper near the neck but so far it looks just like new. Another thing I love about this coat is it is so easy to wash and dry. Thank you Lands End. Great product for us plus sized curvy women when winter coats that fit well are hard to come by...especially here in Canada! February 21, 2013
Tight around the neck and collar won't fold down I'm 5' tall and ordered petite xs. It fits very well except for around the neck. When you zip all the way up, it's very tight hitting the chin. I have to zip back down a little bit to just below my chin to feel comfortable. If I have a longer neck, maybe it won't be an issue, and it'll tuck in nicely right under the chin. I wonder if it will be less tight around the chin if I order a size up, but I like the fit of the xs everywhere elses. I worry that the small will be too loose and big looking. Another annoying thing is that the collar won't fold down unless you unzip way down to flatten them out. It's not as warm when you do that. When I'm driving, I like to zip up only to the bottom of my neck, especially when the neck area is a bit tight, but it feels awkward with two wings sticking out on the sides. I should have been more observant of the collars on the model. They stick out like that.. It's a great coat if you don't mind the issue with the collard not folding down flat. February 17, 2013
Best coat I've ever owned This coat is perfect! It's sooo comfortable, and has nice little touches like chest pockets inside and out. The fleece linings are only at the neck and cuff, so it's cozy but still super-easy to slip on. Perfect for walking the dogs on 20-30 degree mornings. February 7, 2013
Perfect ... except for the lint I've been coveting a down coat in this length for over a year, so I was thrilled when this one went on sale. I had to go a size larger than normal, but it is more fitted than my older coats, so no huge surprise there. I think the weight is not too heavy for 20s temps or even 30s, & the fleece lined pockets are oh so cozy. Nice to have a hood, too, for windy or precipitating days. The only thing that bugs me is that the outer shell seems to work up a lot of static and attract a lot of lint. I got the black one & we have a Golden Retriever, so it's a problem. Looks like I'll have to invest in some anti-static spray. Other than that, I LOVE it! January 30, 2013
Odd sizing I'm 5'6" and about 145lbs. I normally order a regular large in winter coats because I often wear heavy sweaters and still like a little extra wiggle room in my coat. Ordered a medium tall this time - medium because it's what they had available in the color I wanted, and tall because I have long arms and while I don't usually have any trouble with coat sleeves I figured a little extra length couldn't hurt. Oddly, the sleeves are just about right, perhaps even a smidge too short and the fit through the body is quite big, even with a heavy sweater! Feel like I should have ordered a small tall - and I've never worn a coat in a small in my life. Going to keep it as I got a deal and prefer not to pay return shipping and it is otherwise well made.
