Description

Feels like running into an old friend — surprise, good memories, desire to stay connected.

  • Light, sueded cotton poplin
  • Buttondown collar, long sleeves
  • A refined, tailored fit
  • Intended to have a relaxed, lived-in style. Arrives unpressed and minimally packaged
  • From our Canvas Lands' End collection — designed with a different fit that's inline with today's look and style. Click “Fit & Size” above to know what size to order.

Design: Simple and straightforward with careful attention to every detail. Soft, sueded cotton Poplin fabric is the right weight. Collar, placket and sleeves are perfectly proportioned.

Possibilities: Over a V-neck tee. Sometimes under a sweater. Versatile — one shirt you can always depend on.

Heritage: Papeline was first woven in the papal city of Avignon, France, in the 1400s. Poplin has enjoyed a long life because it's cool and breathable, something that never goes out of style.

Material: 100% cotton. Machine wash. Imported.

The Heritage Poplin Shirt 4 5 1 1
The Standard Shirt This is your classic, standard button-down shirt. The fabric is untextured (in contrast to Oxford cloth). It's trim fitting, which gives it a modern look. But don't expect this shirt to be a dress shirt. It's strictly casual. The collar isn't wide enough to accommodate a tie. The stitching is pretty simple and doesn't look very rugged. But another thing to be aware of: this shirt is paper thin. If you wear an undershirt, it will show through. I expect to wear this shirt EITHER under a sweater OR with a solid-color, crew neck t-shirt underneath, and I will not be wearing a t-shirt any writing on it. It would show through. November 29, 2012
