Navy is fancy
These are not tailored and a little looser than the tailored trend currently, but they are very nice heaver linen in a rich dark solid navy. They are not baggy, but don't hug below the rear (drapes straight down). I think you need a bit of a rear/small belly to balance proportions. My husband is average, not overweight with a small bum. He looks fancy in them, so we kept for CA semi formal occasions. Think country club, casual wedding, graduation party. They are pressed and creased out of the bag (but these lines will fall out). With washing I expect more wrinkles, but since is sturdy and not lightweight, they will not be a mess with washing and drying. We have not seen fading with previous linen products from Landsend and don't expect it here either.

A heavy linen short that looks great.
These shorts are made from quite a heavy linen (compared to other shirts/pants I own) and they are a lot heavier than cotton shorts I own. However the quality looks to be great. The fit is on the smaller side but still true to the sizing. I'm very happy with this product.

Elegant, Dressy Shorts
At risk of being oxymoronic, these shorts are more stylish/dressier than typical ones. The cotton/linen blend (I own the navy ones) gives them a textured feel and look, and the side tabs add a bit of elegance. Paired with a collared shirt and boat shoes, these shorts look great!

Nice fabric for hot weather and comfortable fit.
The shorts easily dress up or dress down depending on top you're wearing. Equally at home with button down or polo shirt. Probably best to iron if dressing up but I don't bother. Great for golfing. Great deal if bought at sale price.
