Now, we know a dress shirt blending in yak is unusual, but stick with us. We’ve sold dress shirts with other blends of natural fibers, but this new discovery is our favorite to date. The fabric is a blend of 90% pima cotton — one of the world’s silkiest — and 10% yak hair. A yak grows two kinds of fiber: coarse outer “guard” hair suitable for rugs and rope, and a coat of fine, insulating underhair. The undercoat fiber is nearly as fine as cashmere, and it gives the shirt a warm hand that’s the perfect thing for winter months.
