Description

Old-world origins — modern style.

  • Antique shuttle loom woven poplin
  • Selvedge fabric
  • Spread collar with stays
  • Reinforced side gussets
  • Straight barrel cuffs
  • A slimmer, dressier, more defining fit than the other shirts in our assortment

Design: For more than 100 years this fabric has been woven on an old Japanese mill's original, slow-moving shuttle loom that incorporates air into each thread. This technique creates an amazing hand feel that's crisp, incredibly strong and light. Cut to fit close-to-the-body – this is our most form-defining shirt. Possibilities: Step it up a notch – you can't go wrong with a pair of Refined Chinos, a Donegal vest, some wingtip shoes and reservations to somewhere she won't forget. Material: 100% cotton. Machine wash. Imported.

Fit & Size Information

Men's Selvedge Poplin Shirt 3.3 5 6 6
Right fit, solid build Not sure why everyone has issues with this shirt, it was pretty spot on for myself. I wear a 15.5'', 34/35 dress shirt...I ordered the 15.5, 34(tag actually says 33-34) and it fits nice and trim. It is definitely a modern, tailored fit, so again, not sure why folks are are saying it's baggy or fits too big. Also, I am one hairy son of a gun, the shirt didn't give me any "see thru" issues--at least indoors under normal lighting. Don't see any reason why it would be worse during the daytime under the sun. Big and thin. As I pulled it out of the box, I immediately loved the feel of the shirt and the look. Unfortunately, the fit was too loose, sleeves too long, and the material very thin. I have that problem with a lot of white shirts - they're almost see-thru. If the material didn't have that issue and the sleeves were right, though, I'd gladly have it tailored. As is, it's in the mail to be returned. April 4, 2012
Oversized I wear a 16.5" neck with 34" sleeves on my dress shirts, so that is the size that I ordered. What came was at least an inch too big in the neck, and two inches long in the sleeves. There was no indication that the shirt was meant to shrink, so it was returned. Otherwise, the fabric feels very nice. March 21, 2012
Soft but Thin Great shirt. extremely soft and fits well but the fabric is thin so expect it to be see through if you wear an undershirt or have dark skin/hair. Pattern selvedge shirt is not as bad March 19, 2012
Good quality fabric, well-made, not as slim as I would like I'm 5'9" 145lb with an athletic build. The neck was a little loose, but the sleeves were the right length. The shirt is not cut as slim as I hoped. The fabric and stitching are good quality. I will probably return it, but would recommend it for someone stockier than me. March 17, 2012
Not impressed Shirt was too loose in arms and around shoulder blades. Based on description I expected a more tailored style, but it still felt a bit loose and casual for a dress shirt. The fabric was a bit transparent, so if you are a gentleman and wear a white tee underneath, you can see it. March 10, 2012
