Description

Inspired by the ruggedness of sailboat racing.

  • Flat braided basketweave nylon rope
  • Authentic mainsail shackle as a buckle
  • Genuine leather tabs and tail
  • 1 3/8-inch wide strap
  • Adjustable fit

Design: Cool story — our belt designer was at a local marina shop looking for inspiration. He found a bunch of shackles that connect the mainsail of a boat to the halyard line used to raise the sail. He brought them home and constructed a prototype belt with the shackle as the buckle.

Material: Cotton, genuine leather. Antiqued brass. Imported.

Men's Nautical Shackle Belt 3.3 5 3 3
Great I think this is an excellent and unique looking belt with interesting colors and design. It can really elevate a casual outfit. As for the shackle belt, I don't think it is very different as a belt with holes. If a belt is not meant to be worn tight for the main purpose of holding up your pants -- (but rather, for decoration) -- then the lack of holes does not detract. My size is a 31 waist, ordered medium. February 24, 2013
Runs small and difficult buckle I love the webbing on this belt, but unfortunately it runs really small and I have to return it. Additionally, the buckle is challenging to use, and very bulky - looks nice online, but not so good in reality. December 9, 2012
You'll be stymied at first at how to put it on... If you're like me, you bought the belt for the webbing, not the "buckle" that you're not paying any attention to. The first shock is the strap HAS NO HOLES...that's when you realize the "buckle" has no tongue to go in a hole if one existed anyway. You have to put the strap thru the big loop and the end of the buckle and then BEHIND the hardware at the end of the buckle...which takes a lot of work to do the first couple of times since the leather is stiff. My first thought was "This is a lot of work for a $40 belt." I imagine (hoping)that this will become easier as the leather softens. October 5, 2012
