Bad Fit
I ordered these for my husband who usually wears a size 36. Since other reviews said that these shorts run small, I ordered one in a size 36 and one in a size 38 so that he could compare the fit. Not only was the size 36 way too small ( he couldn't even zip them ) the size 38 was also too small. Something must be wrong with the sizing, or these shorts must be for a very slim build. We have been LE customers for years and so we are familiar with LE sizing, other LE size 36 shorts fit him just fine.

Excellant value for the money. I was very pleased with these shorts.
Fit and styling is great. This product is very much up to Land's End's standards.

Comfortable and correctly tailored
What I love about these Canvas 1963 shorts is the fact that they fit closer to the thigh and have a narrower leg opening than most other shorts. This fit not only feels better on the body but also looks better since it suggests that they have been actually tailored as shorts and are not some regular pants that have just been sheared off right above the knee and seamed. The rest is as described and material seems to be quite durable.

Good for slimmer build
Finally, a pair of shorts that do not look like bloomers on a middle-aged, smallish man! Fit is comfortable and looks good, too. A nice length: not too short (the dreaded look), and not too baggy or long.

Needed to be washed and shrunk a little to get the good fit.
I would have liked to have a 35 inch waist available, but the 36 worked after a washing. Like the feel and comfort. Wish the same cut and fabric was available in long pants.

Great shorts, versatile and durable
The material feels good, sturdy and smooth. The shorts fit great, very similar to Polo Ralph Lauren Prospect shorts. However I do wish the inseam were one inch longer; I'm only 5'8" and the shorts already look a little skimpy on me. The coin pocket can also be placed higher and closer to the waist as well, instead of awkwardly standing where everyone can see it

Like the slim fit
It's about time somone has offered shorts that are something other than baggy shorts. Most shorts have huge leg openings that as far as I'm concerned look rediculous. These shorts have a good looking masculine fit. Most times I I wear size 30 waist for shorts, in these I needed size 31. I wish there were more nuetral color choices, such as black, and white.
