Made with a much denser cotton twill you can hear every step of the way. And like your favorite jeans, you’ll need to break them in the old-fashioned way — by wearing them everywhere.

Heads up — to keep this chino from painting your entire wardrobe, lock in the color with a quick, cold wash. Then it won’t rub you the wrong way.

Material: 100% cotton twill. Machine wash. Imported.

Great Product Quality is outstanding. Contrary to many of the "low ride" comments I don't think it's an issue for me. I find them to be quite comfortable with a modern cut. In regards to the "stiffness" comments they're no more stiff than a new pair of quality jeans. Personally, I favor a more sturdy fabric. They do soften to a comfortable state with wear and after a couple of washes. May 13, 2013
High Quality Pants These pants are very well built. They will definitely last. They wear very well (not wrinkled easily). The fabric is a little stiff but it is still comfortable. Excellent fit.. not like your grandads pants December 5, 2012
Unique fit and very stiff fabric Other reviews also discuss the lower-than-expected rise in a non-slim cut, and I agree. I also felt the inseam length was short for the measurement. The LEC slim chinos I bought 2 years ago were far superior in fit and fabric. My main complaint with the Elston 628 was the astoundingly stiff fabric. It was incomprehensible to me- fabric was so stiff as to wrinkle- no, more like take a crease- deeply when sitting. Washed twice with no apparent softening/relaxing, unlike initially-stiff denim. Very disappointed, returned them. November 11, 2012
Rise is too high to be comfortable * Sizes: Sizes available are random. I had to order a 31x32 and have them hemmed, as 31x30 is not available for the straight leg. Incidentally, the slim fit *is* available in 31x30, but not 31x32. I actually called to make sure there wasn't something wrong with the online catalog, because it doesn't make a lot of sense. * Material: The pants are soft to the touch, but the material is very rigid, like raw denim-rigid. It wrinkles easily, if you care, but these are clearly casual pants. * Fit: The fit is tailored and looks good, except the rise, which is extremely uncomfortable. You will constantly be reminded that you are wearing your Comer straight-fit pants and will have to learn a new stride for going up stairs. (This is not a subtle brag.) Did anybody try these on? Ow. I rarely feel compelled to submit online reviews, but it was notable enough to make me go to the trouble. October 31, 2012
Fits large in the waist I would say the waist sizes about 1/2" large compared to other brands. The material is dense yet soft and the legs fit close to the body without verging on "skinny". I think these are good stand-ins for jeans. It think it's ridiculous that the skinny version is offered in 33x30 but the straight is not; I won't buy again because of the "tailor tax" but the product is still okay. October 15, 2012
Too slim If you are looking for really slim trousers, this is it. I'm tall and lean, and although these trousers fit, they are just too slim to be aesthetically pleasing. October 13, 2012
Rise is way too low I own two pairs of Land's End Canvas Heritage Chinos that I purchased last year. I loved one pair so much that I bought a second in a different color. They sit nicely below my waist, right on my hips. I was excited to hear about their new chinos, especially the thick fabric and saturated colors. However I very disappointed with the fit of the Comer 628 Straight Fit. The rise is so low on them that they sit a 1/2" to 3/4" BELOW my hips. Sadly I had to send them back. I had the same problem with the Elston 628 Straight Fit. October 13, 2012
not traditional but looks great I don't usually buy low fitting pants and at first it seemed that it was too tight around my groin area. But once I realized that it was supposed to fit slightly lower, I realized that it's a great pair of pants! October 13, 2012
Great if you can pull off the look. I loved these pants but unfortunately they didn't work for my body type. I'm 5'9" and 180lbs. I picked these over the slim version of these pants but they were still too tight. I usually wear 34 x 30 and I probably should have gotten a 36" x 32" to get the fit I want. September 22, 2012
PERFECT FIT!!!!! The fit is perfect, great color, and great construction. 5'6" 135lb. My only complaint is that they don't come in yacht blue. Got a pair of the elston slims, they fit well too but are just a bit too slim for my liking. On par with J.Crew chinos but at half the price with LEC promo codes. September 19, 2012
