These are actually a nice slim cut, but the waist runs at least a size large. I normally wear a 32 in dress pants and a 30-31 in jeans, but the 31 in these pants was just too roomy. I've sent them back for a 30, with hopes that they won't stretch too much.
As to the quality of the pants, they are on par with most that LE sells. The fabric is lightweight without being see-through, and between the weight and the weave, I'm going to guess that they wear decently cool in the summer. Speaking of the weave, it gives them a more interesting texture than your garden variety canvas fabric.

Great canvas feel for Summer.
These canvas pants are low rise and more of a tapered leg than what I'm used to. So some might interpret the fit as tighter fit than Lands End's tailored fit pants. Think of it as a fit between skinny jeans and tailored
Not as off-white as I imagined. These are bright enough to pass as white canvas but not as harsh on the eyes as bright white. Perhaps the natural canvas cor will depend into a cream white over time. The canvas feels very sturdy and durable without feeling stiff. I'm 6 feet tall, 166 lbs and the 32W x 32L size is the perfect fit and length. Bottom of the pant length just sits on top of my boat shoes. But if you like that Summer rolled up pant leg, you might want the next leg length size longer.
I'd wear these for casual outdoor events. These look great with a rolled up sleeved Oxford, Chambray or Gingham buttondown shirt with men's espadrilles or boat shoes (no socks), and a natural cotton braided belt. My wife loves them.

Slim fit? Runs pretty big.
Lands End/Canvas is frustrating because their sizes tend to shift a bit. I have a pair of corduroy jeans from Canvas that are 32 inch waist and they fit great. Slim fit and all that. Great pair of pants. The waist is actually 32 inches.
Ordered these canvas pants and the waist is huge. I grabbed the measuring tape and the waist was 36 inches. So, these run entirely too large.
So, order way smaller (or maybe I got a defective or mislabeled pair). Otherwise, they are what you'd expect... canvas pants. Somewhat heavy (feel heavier than regular denim). Not sure these would be trousers I'd wear in hot weather. If you can get the fit right, they are fine.
